PostHeaderIcon Famous Dave’s Salmon Spread Recipe

Samon Spread Recipe

We love BBQ at our house and prior to my gluten allergy diagnosis we used to hang out at Famous Dave’s BBQ. I can’t eat there any longer as they use wheat in their sauces and every dish seems to be contaminated.

I can’t even eat this salmon spread, but it’s a favorite with my other half so I reverse engineered it from the menu and I do make it for him on occasion.

For those of you who can eat dairy, it’s a real treat!

PostHeaderIcon Dijon Shrimp Over Sauerkraut

Shrimp

I’ve been craving sauerkraut for days now, but I haven’t been in the mood for hotdogs. I usually scoop the kraut over Hebrew Nationals and slather on the mustard. I was on the hunt for something different and I ran into a fantastic sale on jumbo wild caught shrimp at Sprouts Farmer’s Market. If you follow The Rogue Cookie Facebook Page, then you know how much I love Sprouts. This grocery chain always has great prices, the freshest produce, and really great seasonal meats and seafood.

Here’s what I experimented with…

PostHeaderIcon Spaghetti Squash With Tuna And Tomato Sauce

spaghetti_squash_with_tuna_and_tomato_sauceI’m a huge fan of Giada De Laurentiis, she’s gorgeous and makes fantastic recipes that I can easily convert to fit my dietary needs. I have every cookbook she’s ever published and am mesmerized every time she shows up on the Food Network.

A while back I found her Tuna and Tomato Sauce recipe and even though I was skeptical I tried it. Wow, it’s amazing and I’ve been making it ever since. Way back I used regular pasta, then I switched to Dream Fields, and now that I’ve been diagnosed with a gluten allergy I put it over spaghetti squash. You can use whatever pasta substitute you like, but here’s how I make it…

PostHeaderIcon Low-Carb, Gluten-Free Chicken Soup

Low-Carb, Gluten-Free Crock-pot Chicken Soup
Lunches are a struggle at our house. We never seem to have enough options for something quick during the work-day lunch hour. So, to solve this issue we make a meal ahead of time and munch on easy re-heatable leftovers for the week.

I will often make something in the crock-pot like chili, stew, or soup or make a casserole or two. This is the best solution I’ve come up with to ensure we don’t get stuck without healthy options and have to resort to less healthy, more convenient options like…dare I say it…the drive-thru. Thank goodness for places like Jimmy Johns, Inn-N-Out, and Chipotle for those times!

Here’s a good chicken soup recipe sans noodles, but for you gluten-free folks who allow items like gluten free pasta. You could easily add the noodles back in.

PostHeaderIcon Make it Low-Carb Monday: Low-Carb, Gluten-Free Fried Chicken

Today my man-friend had a hankering for some good ol’ fried chicken, so I starting digging through my flour subs to see what I could come up with. I think I hit the jackpot with this recipe.

Try it out and let me know what you think!

The SuperBowl is here!

This is a recipe that has been around for ages, and it’s the best game time deliciousness out there. Unfortunately it is very heavy on the dairy so I won’t be partaking, but I’m whipping up a batch for the super-bowl party we’re attending. If you haven’t tried it and you’re looking for a super awesome dish for the game, definitely try this!
